Mohs Micrographic Surgery

Mohs micrographic surgery is microscopically controlled surgery that is highly effective for common types of skin cancer. It is one of the many methods of obtaining complete margin control during removal of a skin cancer.  The cure rate for Mohs micrographic surgery is the hightest of all treatments for skin cancer – exceeding 99 percent.

This selective removal of only diseased tissue is the most exact and precise method of skin cancer removal.  It also allows the greatest preservation of normal tissue, lessening scarring or disfugurement.

Advantages of Mohs Micrographic surgery:

  • Mohs Surgery has the highest cure rate of any comparable procedure:  exceeding 99%;
  • The Mohs technique has the lowest functional and cosmetic impact of any procedure.
  • The one-day outpatient procedure uses local anesthesia in a comfrotable, easily accessible facility;
  • Mohs surgery is covered by most insurance plans and is highly cost-effective compared to other surgical options.

By using advanced cosmetic dermatology techniques, dermatologists can minimize the signs of aging, reverse sun damage, remove common skin flaws and make skin appear younger and smoother.  We can offer solutions, including state of the art laser treatments for hair removal, facial veins, roseacea, age spots and facial rejuvenation, as well as chemical peels, Botox injections and a complete skin care product line.
