Oregon Medical Group announces new Executive Medical Director
Oregon Medical Group (OMG) has named Stacy Chance, MD, as Executive Medical Director.
Dr. Chance will lead OMG as it focuses on collaboration to achieve the highest quality, patient-centered medical care. He has served in multiple leadership roles during his 11 years at OMG, including chairing the operations committee. He currently serves as department chair of adult primary care, Physician Practice Leader of Garden Way Medical Clinic and is an OMG Board member.
Dr. Chance began his new role on June 12, replacing Karen Weiner, MD, who served as the Chief Medical Officer for four years before being named the Chief Executive Officer in March. The position will oversee physician leadership at OMG and support the development of programs that improve how health care is delivered, all while supporting OMG’s vision of collaborating to achieve the highest quality, patient-centered care.
“We are excited to welcome Dr. Chance to this executive leadership role,” says Weiner. “Being a physician-led organization requires commitment and passion from the physicians themselves in order to meet the evolving demands of our industry. Dr. Chance has demonstrated both of these traits in his previous leadership roles at OMG and we look forward to his contributions and influence on the development of Oregon Medical Group’s physician leadership.”
“It’s a privilege to be selected to lead this amazing group of physicians and medical professionals,” Dr. Chance said. “We are already providing coordinated, high-quality care, and I look forward to helping us do even more for our patients.”
Dr. Chance earned a medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville and completed residency training at the University of Rochester Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, N.Y. He is board certified in pediatrics and internal medicine. He joined OMG in 2006. Chance’s areas of special medical interest include preventive care, children with special needs and sports physicals.
