Dr. Dear earned a medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and completed residency training in family medicine at Duke University Medical Center. Prior to becoming a physician, she worked as a physical therapist. She is board certified in family medicine and her medical areas of interest include geriatrics and adolescent health.

In her personal time, she enjoys crafts, sewing, baking and gardening.
