Zachary Brooks, DPM, Achieves Board Certification in Foot and Ankle Surgery

Zachary Brooks, DPM, with Oregon Medical Group, has achieved board certification in Foot and Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery® (ABFAS). This distinction recognizes that Dr. Brook has demonstrated excellence in clinical judgment, surgical skill, and commitment to high-quality patient care.

ABFAS certification signifies the highest standard of professional achievement in foot and ankle surgery. Board-certified surgeons meet rigorous requirements that include advanced training, ongoing assessment, and continued professional development.

Dr. Brooks completed his foot and ankle surgical residency with Kaiser Permanente North Bay Consortium, where he served as Chief Resident and focused extensively on advanced reconstructive surgery. During residency, he co-developed a Single-Person Ankle Reduction Technique to improve efficiency and patient outcomes. This work was published in Techniques in Foot and Ankle Surgery in March 2023. He has also authored "The Effect of Frontal Angular Deformity on Total Ankle Arthroplasty Revision Rate," published in The Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery in March 2024.

Dr. Brooks earned his medical degree from Midwestern University, where he served as class president and co-authored multiple surgical case reports. He is trained in total ankle replacement and has a clinical focus on sports medicine, trauma, and reconstructive surgery.

A native Oregonian, Dr. Brooks enjoys spending time outdoors and is passionate about helping patients return to active lifestyles through thoughtful, evidence-based care.
