You'll Love the Willamette Valley
First, let's dispel the myths about the rain around here. Yes, it can be rather precipitous, but the sun does shine in the Willamette Valley. A lot, actually. Annually, we get less rainfall in Oregon than they do in Alabama. Plus, we have the distinct pleasure of being home to the web-footed, University of Oregon Ducks.
Education Comes First
New community members quickly discover education is a top priority in the area. From research doctorates at the University of Oregon to Montessori preschools, Eugene and Springfield offer some of the nation's best schools.
The public schools offer non-traditional programs including half-day immersion programs in French, Spanish or Japanese. These programs run kindergarten through high school. If you're interested in exploring Waldorf or Montessori educations for your children, those are available, too.
More than 36,000 students attend classes at Lane Community College every year, including their over 40 career and technical programs. The University of Oregon has over 250 academic programs, and is well-known for its science and research programs, along with its football team. More than 24,000 students attend classes at the University of Oregon each year.
If you have questions about neighborhood schools, enrollment, volunteer opportunities or specific classes, just ask and we'll direct you to the right people.
Home is Where You Hang Your Bike
One of the first things you'll notice about Eugene/Springfield is the bike lanes. They're everywhere. So no matter what neighborhood you choose to call home, there's probably a bike lane running right through it or nearby. And that bike lane connects with countless miles of other bike lanes throughout the county. If you want to get to work by bike, you can.
Whatever kind of home you are looking for, there's bound to be a shape, style and price to fit your needs. We can put you in touch with one of the area realtors who will give you a tour of the neighborhoods, tell you about the schools, show you all of your options and help make the move easy.
Fun For the Whole Family
There is a lot for a family of any size to do right here in Eugene and Springfield. Get out and see nature in action, take in a show at the Hult Center, attend one of the many festivals, or simply go shopping. When you first move here, your new peers will likely show you around or give you some direction on where to go and what to see. A year or so down the road, it'll be your turn to share what you know. By then, you'll be a well-rooted local.

Whatever your off-hours entail, we’re about an hour or less away from it. Head west for an hour and you’ll hit the Pacific Ocean. Go east and you'll be skiing some of the best slopes in the region. Or simply stay in the valley and take in the lush, green landscapes, temperate climate and warming sunshine.
Looking for some big-city fun, Portland is a little over an hour away to the north. When it comes to hiking, biking, kayaking, running and general outdoor activities, nobody has more trails and recreation areas than we do in the Willamette Valley.
The Great Indoors
Inside our clinics, we provide courteous and sympathetic treatment mingled with the highest quality of care available - all at a reasonable cost. That’s why so many families in the community come to Oregon Medical Group to keep them feeling good. Nearly one in three people in Lane County see an Oregon Medical Group physician for their primary medical care. Countless more rely on our specialists.
"Joining Oregon Medical Group nearly 20 years ago was one of the best decisions I have made. It brought me back to my home state and has given me the ability to work alongside top notch professionals, while expanding our reach to an ever-changing community. As with the dramatic changes in healthcare, I am confident OMG and our growing group of physicians will continue to provide the best care in Oregon for years to come."
-Amy McCarthy, MD
"Having grown up in Eugene as a patient of Oregon Medical Group, I knew I would be joining a practice that offers exceptional patient care. As a physician, the group has exceeded ALL of my expectations. It is rare to find an environment of such collegiality. I feel extremely well supported."
-Luke O'Rourke, DO
"I am very excited to be working at Oregon Medical Group. The physicians are well-supported, very happy and provide high quality care which is respected by the local community. My family and I enjoy Eugene with its diverse lifestyle opportunities."
-Joe Sage, MD
"It has been so exciting to return to Eugene and provide care in my hometown as a part of Oregon Medical Group. The shared vision among primary and specialty care providers within Oregon Medical Group encourages mutual respect and a collaborative approach to patient care. Administrative and technical support further allow physicians to provide a sophisticated level of care in a neighborhood clinic environment."
-Marissa Simard, MD
"The reason I joined Oregon Medical Group was that during my interview I felt like it was a good fit with the other providers and it was the type of practice I was looking to be a part of. I really enjoy the people I work with and the other providers have been really helpful and a great team to be a part of. It is also nice that there are monthly provider social events like rock climbing, etc. which allows providers to meet other providers that you don't directly work with all the time. I also appreciate that Oregon Medical Group includes APCs in meetings like the quarterly meetings and town hall meetings that allow us to hear about what is going on with the company. Eugene has been great in that it is not a huge city but has everything you need. It is easy access to the coast and the mountains for those who like outdoor activities. It has a variety of different restaurants around town and different entertainment options that come through at the Hult Center and sporting events at the U of O."
-Travis Matsumoto, PA
"It’s hard work to be a couch potato in Eugene. I mountain bike, rock climb, kayak and sky dive. There’s just so much to do here and it’s just right there for you. Everything’s within ten minutes."
